Library Lofts is a high-end apartment complex mixing old-world charm and modern convenience, right in the heart of Chicago's historic Printer's Row.
Formerly the Brock & Rankin building, Library Lofts is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. By the late nineteenth century, Printer's Row was a center for commercial printing in the United States second only to New York. The Windy City’s thriving catalog and magazine industry kept the presses humming nearly non-stop for decades.
The majority of the building was constructed between 1883 and 1928 for Chicago's burgeoning printing industry. The exterior of the structure is red brick, and stunning terra cotta detailing. The interior spaces feature exposed concrete and masonry walls. The entry hall retains a historic metal stair. an original elevator enclosure and a polychrome mosaic floor.
